I’m considering getting back into WW2 wargaming and last week (to learn more) I picked up a copy of Wargames Illustrated. It was a really interesting read, but one article on page 7 really caught my attention. It seems that Jon Sutherland, a rather enterprising entrepreneur, has set up a wargamers’ holiday camp in Crete!
The website is pretty cool and does a great job of showcasing the facilities and the local area. What truly amazed me, though, was the size of the centre’s wargaming table – 50 ft. by 6 ft.! That’s just immense. They have pictures of their Crete and Indian Mutiny games on the website. The quality of the terrain and the figures is excellent and I can’t begin to imagine how much time and effort went into preparing them.
I’m not quite a wargamer yet, but I reckon if I was I’d be off to Crete in a shot!
